Goodbye Adverts - 13th of September 2007 - 12:55

Im sure you noticed the lack of google adverts on the site. Well so did we.
Yesterday i loaded up GetLinkd to add some links and advertise our site when it struck me. At first I thought that Will had been sorting out the site and taken them down for a few moments, but just to make sure I phoned him. He was just as shocked as I was.
Turns out google has canceled our account with them, stating that we had broken their terms and conditions. Apparently we had been making fraudulent clicks, this is of course not true.
As well as taking away our account, they have taken away the £550.71 that they owed us. £225 in English.
We are hoping to get our account back, stick with us, we arnt going anywhere soon :)

Well, I guess it's time for another update... A lot has changed in the last few weeks, and I mean a LOT. The front page has undergone a huge overhaul and it's looking a lot better now. Ads, links - everything has been changed. I've been watching effectiveness and placing Ads and Links places were they are most likely to be effective. It's been a lot of work but we're finally getting there!

Lately hits have increase a LOT, say hello to our 1,000 new visitors in America! :)

Work on v2 has progressed nicely, but been postponed while I work on v1.

We also bring news on the ad front, we received our first pay check!

Things are starting to look up.

As inspired by Athernar, the menu links now change colour instead of size and weight! The letters also spread slightly. This means that the menu box doesn't sharply get bigger and smaller. Very nice! :)

Well, a lot has happened since we set up the forums - and I think it's time for a big update!

First off, stats.

Let's just say, they have increase since the forum was added.

Most of our users origniate from Europe, however it seems Asia, Australia and the USA are fans too :P
18 people found getLinKD by searching "lorry driver killed in fire 27th october 2006".
You spend an average of 4minutes on each page.
Florida and California visit getLinKD most out of all the American states.
8% of you visit the site more than 50 times.
A total of 190 different people have been on the site in the last few days.
10% of the visits come from Myspace (bulletins and profiles).
O and we know what you did last summer.

Now don't you just feel like big brother is watching you? =P

The Forum

We've built up quite a community on there and it's proving to be a lot of fun! We have set up lots of games - including a treasure hunt! SIGN UP NOW! :P

WOW. Now, there's something to tell you about. My my has it come a long way! I should say the beta testing is probably a few months off - but it's going to be one hell of a site when it's done.

Just thought I'd post a quick bit of news to report the current stats. It's going pretty well at the moment. Ha, I say "pretty well" - hell, it's going awesome. On average we get around 30,000 REQUESTS a month - well in the last 7 days we have received a total of 17,000 requests. That's more than half the amount we get a month! Traffic has increased 3 fold and things are showing no sign of stopping!

More updates to come as things get better. In the meantime I shall leave you with this...

Random header images! - 11th of April 2007 - 07:49

Yes! That's right! I did a little bit of a mod today. The image header (at the top of each page) will now be randomly chosen from a database of headers.

Now is your chance to get your banner up there! Make us a banner (about getLinKD obviously) and email it to will at getlinkd (dot) net. Please make sure all banners are 600x80 pixels big and in .jpg format. It doesn't have to follow specific theme, so go crazy!

Well, what a productive lesson. I just wrote a cool new feature for getLinKD! It's called go Random, and it's simple! Click the go Random link on the menu and it will pick a random entry in our link database and take you there. Simple.

Massive news update - 24th of February 2007 - 17:29

Well, there is lots to tell you guys. The next version of getLinKD is coming along nicely which is awesome, but more importantly getLinKD has become much more active over a matter of weeks - which is fantastic! A bit of stats update I guess, this month has been the most active, and the 19th was the most active day! Also, it would seem that 11am to 2pm are our most active times of the day. Interesting huh?

One game has become incredibly addictive it would seem - and currently I (Will) am the best at it :P. You can find it here. The (my) current top score is 18296380.
